The primary functions of the Worship Commission are to:1. Represent the community regarding the worship life of the Parish.
2. Serve as a forum for communication among all parish liturgical ministries. A representative from each of these ministries makes up the Worship Commission: Eucharistic ministers, music, lectors, ushers, sacristans, greeters, parish environment.
3. Work with the pastor and archdiocese in implementing congregational worship for the liturgical year, and encourage awareness, appreciation, and participation in the liturgies.
Volunteers are needed in the Worship Ministries. No experience is necessary, as training will be provided. These ministries include:

The primary functions of the Christian Service Commission are to:
1. Determine the social and justice needs of the community and communicate with the parish the action needed to resolve those needs and achieve justice.
2. Coordinate the efforts of the parish service organizations (St. Vincent de Paul, Food Pantry, etc.).
3. Conduct and organize programs for visiting the sick, homebound and lonely.
4. Increase the number of parish people involved in Christian Service.
5. Conduct an organized program for welcoming new parishioners.
Volunteers are needed to help in all of Christian Services activities. No experience is necessary, as training will be provided. Christian Service activities include:
- Card Ministry
- St. Vincent de Paul Volunteer. The St. Vincent de Paul Society meets monthly to discuss procedures for helping the needy in our community. They also make periodic home visits (in pairs) to people who have asked for help to determine the need. Contact Fr. Browne or the Christian Service.

The primary tasks of the Education Commission are to:
1. Implement the educational policies of the Archdiocese of Detroit.
2. Work with the professional staff in planning, implementing and evaluating parish education programs (elementary through adult).
3. Develop and implement specific objectives to address the parish goal(s) each year.
The St. Gerald Religious Education program offers catechesism for children from ages 3 through 14 (8th grade). Our catechists and students share and grow in faith as they journey together. We have a dedicated staff of volunteers, trained as catechists, who help lead our children in catechesism. The Religious Education Program has many opportunities for volunteers, including:
- Family Nursery Child Care Provider at 10:00 a.m. Mass
- Elementary Religious Education Catechist
- Elementary Religious Education Substitute Catechist
- Teacher's Aide
- Middle School - Alternating Mondays 7 - 9 p.m.
- Small Group Discussion Leader
- Office Volunteer during Elementary Religious Education class time
- Child Care Provider for Catechists during Elementary Religious Education
- Confirmation Program - Once a Month on a Monday, 7 - 9 p.m.
- Catechist - Team Leader
- Parent Involvement Leader

The Youth Ministry is an opportunity for teens to gather together to explore their faith and to explore the Catholic Church. As young people continue to grow, they need help bridging the gap between adolescence and adulthood. Young people need to feel connected to the Church. Youth Ministry offers that feeling of belonging. Volunteers are needed.

The primary functions of the Stewardship Commission are to:
1. Foster an understanding and appreciation of stewardship in our lives.
2. Coordinate the annual parish budget; present the budget to the Parish Council for approval; communicate budget and financial information to the parish; and, periodically review the actual financial activity of the parish to determine compliance with the approved budget.
3. Inspect parish properties and determine maintenance needs of same.
